Tybee Island- Mitzie Edmundson Bernstein entered eternal rest on April 30, 2009.

Born in Freemont, North Carolina, Mrs. Bernstein was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Parish on Tybee Island.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel Bernstein; son, Michael and his wife, Gayna; three daughters, Anita, Celeste and Vanessa. Other relatives include her brother, James Herbert Edmundson and his wife, Dorothy; brother-in-law, Bill Bernstein and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Deanne Gallo and her husband, Stephen and Tommy White and his wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany and Harley Benson, Rebecca Gallo, Nicholas and Jack White and Joseph Rewis.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.

Mitzi was a devoted wife, mother and true friend. She will be greatly missed.
